While the Malivian people can count on the state to help them with a basic safety net in times of trouble, we cannot continue to support people who are unwilling, but able to, to work. These Malivians are a drain government resources, the resources provided by their fellow Malivians who choose to work and support the state and not make the state support them. These unwilling worker should be able to depend on the government to help them find a job and help them out in a rough month or two but never longer then that. |

Old value:: All adults not supported by another person shall be guaranteed a very basic subsistence income by the government. However, the provision of this is not to exceed a certian period of time.

Proposed: There shall be no direct cash payments to individuals to guarantee a minimum income.

Current: The state operates a compulsory public system combined with an optional private pension.
Proposed: The state offers a voluntary public pension, combined with other voluntary private pensions.

Message | We support this bill in its entirety. The unemployed can be fed by the government and given job training, which is all they truly need in their period in between jobs. Offering them payments will cause needed workers to remain out of the job market. |
