Bill: Foreign Aid Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: Party of Kanjor
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 2114
Description[?]:
It's sickening that we will only give 'hooked' aid. In the long-term, we just send the countries we aid deeper into debt, by selling our cheaper crops to them, just making the citizens worse off. We should be more caring to our fellow humans, kinder, not disgusting, money-grubbing rats, like whoever proposed this bill. |

Old value:: The government supplies "tied" aid to poorer nations in return for trading rights.

Message | I actually proposed this bill, myself (please don't hurt me yet!) Let me explain. I had very good intentions when I did so too, and it was either this or they cut most of the funding altogether. I had read that same week about how giving trading with dictatorships and such bad governments weakens the governments and empowers the people. I'm sure you could find the bill in the Legislative History and see the genuine non-rattish side of the argument. As of now, I would be willing to accept this proposal. |

Message | Well, at least there was no funding whatsoever, like all the right wing parties would've proposed. I do see why you did it, but it's still not good enough. We shouldn't have to settle for less than this. |
Date | 22:10:17, September 20, 2005 CET | From | Populist Liberal Party | To | Debating the Foreign Aid Bill |
Message | We would have opposed this, except for the reciprocal tariff bill that we passed. We now can support the bill, as the threat of Kanjoran tariffs can be a new incentive to push nations to open their markets to Kanjoran goods. |
