Bill: Anarch Anakrousite Reform Bill - Marriage (iii)

Details

Submitted by[?]: Commonwealth Workers Army

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2111

Description[?]:

The AAP believes that the time is right for the matter of 'gay' marriage to be re-introduced.

Core to AAP understanding are two facts.

1) The current law forbids a practise PURELY on the basis of a prejudice, which we consider wrong.

2) Homosexual 'couples' are currently deprived of ALL the benefits that heterosexual couples enjoy - tax relief, eligibility for certain programs (such as joint insurance), and familial benefits like visiting sick relatives in hospital.

The AAP keenly hopes that this bill will receive a balanced and unbiased appraisal from our comrades in the voting arena.

MessageThe AAP apologises to the RLP, whom we appear to have leapfrogged with this bill. We were under the (mistaken) impression that the RLP bill had been allowed to lapse.

Thus, the AAP has pushed this issue straight to a vote, where it can stand or fall democratically.

Random fact: Moderation will not accept Cultural Protocol updates which introduce, on a significant scale, cultures which are likely to be insufficiently accessible to players. In particular, for all significant cultures in Particracy, it should be easy for players to access and use online resources to assist with language translation and the generation of character names. Moderation reserves the right to amend Cultural Protocols which are deemed to have introduced significant cultures that are not sufficiently accessible and which are not being actively role-played with.
