Bill: Regulation of Marriage
Details
Submitted by[?]: People's Radical Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2556
Description[?]:
While the "Marriage and Adoption" bill fell just short of passing (OOC: I wonder what would've happened if the FIBB Party had voted - that would've made it 250 each way), we did not notice any serious objections to the regulation of marriage. Thus, we propose once again that marriage should be defined as being between two consenting adults, rather than not being defined at all. It is no secret that the PRP wishes fervently that it could be defined as being between a consenting male adult and a consenting female adult, but we are well aware that such a definition would get nowhere in the present political climate. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Government policy toward marriage.
Old value:: The government does not involve itself in marriage or civil unions.
Current: The government allows all consenting adults to obtain civil marriage contracts.
Proposed: The government allows all consenting adults to obtain civil marriage contracts.
