Bill: Criminalize Murder
Details
Submitted by[?]: Conservative Ordo Malleus (COM)
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 2558
Description[?]:
Murder is wrong. We have all agreed to this as citizens of Telamon. Killing another is not acceptable. It is so wrong that we have criminalized it before. Unfortunately, some individuals have seen fit to legalize murder. We must rail against that and pass this legislation to criminalize murder. Even if this bill fails the people of Telamon will know where their representatives stand. Will they support murderers next time? Or, will they vote them out of office. Now is the time to stand and be counted. |

Message | We believe this to be nonsense. The current policy on abortion is not at all murder, as it is only intended to save lives. The DCD voted down a policy of first trimester abortion and supported this policy instead in the interest of finding middle ground between the liberal and conservative views. We deplore this act of aggression in return to our attempts at cooperation. James Lott Chairman Democratic Capitalist Delegation |

Message | There are few issues that I and the Conservative Ordo Malleus hold positions of firm entrenchment. One of these is that abortion and euthanasia are veiled terms to make murder legally, socially, and morally acceptable. They are none of those things. I will be the first to cooperate with any party in Telamon for Telamon's benefit. I will compromise and work to find common ground. But, murder is an absolute. I shall remain tireless in my devotion to ensure that murder remains illegal. Telamon has swayed in the past on the issue in legislation. Each time it has returned to the realization that abortion and euthanasia are in fact murder and must be treated as such. I am firm in my convictions that Telamon will remove the cobwebs and see the light once again. It may not happen today or tomorrow but it will happen and I will be there in body or spirit when it does. We must protect the sanctity and inherent value of life at all costs. -Thorden Raxney |
