Message | We oppose article 1 on the grounds that we believe, in certain situations, that the militairy should provide support to the police force, and, if necessary, act as a de facto police force. It is important to keep our options open and we do not see why militairy support for the police force is problematic. We oppose article 2 in that we do not believe in global governance or international law - we recognize the sovereign state as the highest authority. If we want to legislate for the proper treatment of prisoners, we can do so on a national basis. We are undecided on article 3, but we must oppose this legislation because we oppose the other two articles. |
