ToDebating the Aesthetic Bill 2558 "Consequent Pacifism" Pt. 3
MessageWe agree with this legislation in spirit, but an entirely private defence industry which is not subsidised at all, we believe, cannot stand.
Militairy is one of the only areas in which the Hutori Conservative Council believes that nationalization is necessary. The militairy works for the country's interest - a private militia will not only find it hard to get funding, particularly without subsidy, but the troops who join are also more likely to be motivated by monetary gain rather than a patriotic love for the country and a pledge to protect it and its values. We think this is problematic.
We do agree with article 1, but because of our opposition to article 2 we cannot, unfortunately, support this legislation in its entirity.
