Message | Perhaps is child labour is allowed, but with heightened regulations? While it is obviously a most deplorable situation, never should the government set a precendent where it is discouraging citizens from working hard. Instead, it should be a contractual agreement for the employer to ensure the welfare of these children, more so than their adult workers, or face the harsh retribution of a concerned government. - Fieren Goldmark - Finance Minister (Radical Party) |

Message | Given the impending lowered age of adulthood to 16, we do not find this to be an outlandish proposal. Our primary cause for feeling the need to implement this bill is our concern with the vague wording of the current articles. According to current law, a citizen 4 years of age could theoretically enter the labor force as long as there were "additional regulations." We feel that our law in regards to child labor needs to be more clear-cut. As for you concerns relating to the Child Labour Treaty, we assure you that we are permitted under the treaty to outlaw child labor. James Lott Chairman Democratic Capitalist Delegation |
