Message | "Your rhetoric and your proposals demonstrate an even more sickening disregard for natural rights than any disregard for the sanctity of human life. 1) Pregnancy is a voluntary natural contract between the unborn fetus and the mother. The mother will sustain the existence of the fetus, give birth to the child and raise it in return for the emotional reward of having a child. If the child-to-be will not give such a reward, or the mother does not have the resources to give this child a decent life, it is the right, and in the case of the latter circumstance, responsibility of the mother to abort the fetus. 2) Abortion does not mean kill. Abortion is simply the ejection of the fetus from the womb. If the mother were to eject the fetus, hold a gun up to its head, and then shoot it, that would be murder and should definitely be prosecuted as such. But simply taking the fetus from the womb is not murder, but rather terminating a contract. Perhaps, if there are women on a waiting list to receive a fetus (because they are physically unable to have their own children) the next woman on the waiting list should have the fetus inserted into her. If there are no women on such a list, the fetus will most certainly die, but this is an unfortunate circumstance. I'm sure that people opposed to abortion under sentiment, will voluntarily accept the insertion of these aborted fetuses into their own wombs to save the fetuses - sort of like charity. 3) If the woman is raped, forcing her to bear the child is treating the matter as if it were her fault, and is a double-rape; a rape of not only the perpetrator, but also a rape of the state. This is morally and ethically wrong. 4) In nearly all circumstances in which abortions are committed, the fetuses, were they to be born, would live in terrible lives, of abuse, neglect, and overall poor living conditions and poverty. To force a fetus to be born to these circumstances, rather than to be inserted in another woman or to die, would be horrible. By forcing a life into these conditions would be rape of the state upon that life - and thus the state has raped twice; against the mother and against the fetus. 5) An unconscious, non-sentient being is not truly viable life. What separates humans from the lower animals (all animals except maybe monkeys, elephants, dolphins, whales, etc.) is sentience, intelligent, consciousness, ambition, and the ability to make fire. Fetuses lack all of these qualities, and therefore are not truly viable life. Furthermore, not only will the fetus not suffer, but you must understand that you cannot remorse over the loss of something a being never had. When you think of loss of life, you are thinking in terms of your own life. You are not thinking of one of the most simple multi-cellular organisms, with no thoughts, desires, experiences, or memories, suddenly, without any pain or warning, being terminated. Very little has been lost. A fetus can hardly be called "human life," and abortion does not necessarily terminate it, but simply removes it from the womb of the woman who is unable or strongly unwilling to raise the child." -Raamiah Galgenstrick, Chairman of the GJA Foreign Minister of the SJHB |
