Bill: National Animal Act of 2111
Details
Submitted by[?]: Totalitarian Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 2112
Description[?]:
The Totalitarian Party believes the dove is not symbolic of our nation. The animal is ugly, common and sloppy with its nest building. These are not traits we want people to associate with Gaduridos. We suggest the Raven. It is intelligent, hardy, and loyal to its mate for life. We feel these traits are symbolic of Gaduridos. |

Message | I feel the dove does not deserve its symbolism. Dove is an alternative name for pigeon. When you see a pigeon, do you immediately associate it with peace? I don't. Our national animal should have traits that represent our nation and its citizens. The raven is found in many different climates all over the world. It is adept at surviving in unfavourable conditions. In the past, Gaduridos has been subject to unfavourable conditions, yet our way of life has survived. We have risen above our troubles, and overcome them. The raven is loyal, mating for life with a single partner. This is representative of the loyalty our nation's citizens have for their country. The raven is known to be capable of using tools, such as creating hooks to reach items inside bottles. This symbolises our citizen's intelligence and cunning. Why should our national animal be an animal that is known for peace, simply because it appeared in a certain religion's myths? We disagree with the suggestion of a tropical bird, partly because it would be selected because of its exotic and attractive appearance, not because of any admirable traits it may possess. |
