| Message | For the first time, we believe, we completely agree with Novy Smer. Not only will GM foods be better and healthier, but they will allow for a much larger amount of food, meaning that we may never go through hunger at all. |

| Message | We recognise there are very strong views on both sides about this issue, but the Democratic Alliance will cautiously endorse this Act. The evidence against GM food does not stack up, but more research is needed and the public is still extremely wary about GM produce. The government must do everything to ensure that the public is educated about what 'genetically modifed food' means in practice, and to ensure that products are labelled correctly. |
