MessageWe believe that we must continue to invest in education and cultural pursuits for the benefit of all. With Telamon's population increasing we have more and more children entering our school system. In order to maintain our viability on a global scale we must maintain small class sizes and diversified education. This requires more teachers, more aides, and more funding for the courses of study.

Additionally, we need to provide more funding for federal and state police agencies to cover personnel costs along with upgrades to technology and other equipment such as police cruisers.

Part of the increase for Internal Affairs (read police agencies) is in conjunction with the Education and Culture budget to provide some monies to allow police officers to earn higher education. It will be a pilot program in which officers, who are accepted to accredited universities/colleges/or other courses of study such as workshops, and meet certain criteria are eligible to have a portion of those expenses reimbursed.

It is our hope that this will encourage officers to become better educated thereby better serving their communities. Many aspects of policing requires the usage of new technology. Not all officers are familiar with this new technology and it is necessary to support their strides to better understand and utilize the tools of their trade.

MessageWe will support the additional funding to Education and Culture, but oppose a Foreign Affairs increase.

If this bill is amended to remove the superfluous increase in Foreign Affairs, this will receive my endorsement, but otherwise it will not.

MessageWe would advise minister Goldmark that the said increase is actually to internal affairs, not foreign affairs.

MessageTo address the TACP's concern our current tax system brings in 87,086,650,640 TPD. If this proposed budget passes our expenses will reach 84,007,000,000 TPD. That leaves a surplus of 3,079,650,640 TPD. If the TACP is concerned about having too high of a surplus we must kindly note that passing this budget will reduce our surplus by about half. It will then take that money and put it to good use instead of having it sit in piles gathering dust.

We believe education is an essential service to our citizens. Surely the TACP can agree in that.

With the support of the RP, and DCD and the endorsement of Heinrich Gruss Minister of Internal Affairs and Daphne Evars Minister of Education and Culture we hereby move this budget proposal to a vote.

MessageAnd as always we believe returning that money to the hard working citizens of Telamon is a better idea than spending it in any fashion. As we stated before to the RP and the DCD; we voted against the last increase and we'll vote against this one, because if you keep adding together all those little and "reasonable" increases in spending then you've gotten a considerably larger government in the end.
