Message | Sigh. Article one weakens our nation, by reducing the total number of armed individuals at our command. The Rildanor Accords provides us a set number of soldiers. By having police backed up by the military but not part of the military, we get: Rildanor Accords soldier amount + however many police we have. By having the military be the police, we lose the additional armed individuals provided by having a stand alone police. That's why we arm the police with military grade weaponry. |

Message | ooc: The Rildanor Accord needs some tweaking, as, for example, it takes no account of conscription or defence budgets, and therefore it should serve as a guide, not a cast iron law. |
Date | 14:46:25, April 24, 2008 CET | From | Liberal Urban Party | To | Debating the Militarism Bill |
Message | Well, the international community accepts it as a cast iron law and condemns any violations, while it refuses to cooperate. |

Message | Fair enough, but I wouldn't suppose it would automatically mean the end of our armed police if we choose to make the army and police virtually identical. |

Message | In a war crisis, who will patrol the streets? |
