Bill: Deficit Stop
Details
Submitted by[?]: Alorian Public Union
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill proposes to change the allocation of funds in the budget. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 2567
Description[?]:
The Alorian Public Union propose to adjust the government's spending budget to better address the economic and social situation of the Democratic Republic of Aloria. It is clear that the Anti-Tax bloc has enough votes to vote down even the most moderate tax raises on sales or corporation. Still, we have a deficit. Therefore, we need to cut spending. Until recently, we would not have supported a defence cut, but now that the situiation in Luthori is coming to a close, I think we could afford it. |

Message | Just a remainder. Before the crisis in Luthori, Defence spending was 15 billion, and that was considered high. We are not a millitarist nation, nor do we need to be. We face no threats abroad. We have just finished with a crisis that demanded heightened readiness, now we can return to normalcy. |

Random fact: In cases where players introduce RP laws to a nation and then leave, Moderation reserves the discretion to declare the RP laws void if they appear to have fallen into disuse. In particular, please bear in mind that a player who is inexperienced with Particracy role-play and has joined a nation as the only party there should not generally be expected to abide by RP laws implemented by previous players who have been and left. |
