Message | I have a question sir, what is the reason for increasing the Sales tax on essential goods (like food) and non-luxury clothing? What benefits do you think will come out of it? |
Date | 22:43:38, April 27, 2008 CET | From | The Party for Progressive Progression | To | Debating the HNP Treatise on Tax Reform |
Message | Here we are again with the old establishment taking from the people to profit themselves. No longer will the people accept this corrupt and inept regime. I call for all rightminded people to reject this tax on the poor and come join my party as we try to move this country forwarfd for the benefit of everyone! |

Message | Unfortunately, after surveying the current Hulstrian economic conditions, I don’t believe that our nation can exist without a sales tax. However, this sales tax needs to be applied without discrimination on all goods sold in Greater Hulstria. Dividing goods into “essential” and “non-essential” categories is inherently arbitrary and convoluted. Until such a time that we can possibly eliminate sales tax all together, it must be applied indiscriminately to all goods. The HNP supports flat taxes. |

Message | Although we see much prospects in a flat tax, and lowering the corporation tax is the best thing to stimulate the economy and stimulate the entrepreneurship of our population, we cannot agree with article 3, because we see that it will only hurt the poor, which spend relative most of their income on basic goods and maybe don`t have the money for it after this proposal. |

Message | Eventually, the HNP will phase out sales tax entirely. However, we cannot have a dual set of standards for different types of goods. |
