Bill: Citizenship Qualification
Details
Submitted by[?]: Social Democratic Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2113
Description[?]:
My reasons. 1. So that our citizens will be required to have SOME basic knowledge of the country, such as our capital city. 2. So our citizens won't be laughed at on a global-scale if they know nothing of our own country 3. So Darnussian citizenship isn't taken for granted 4. So only people that want to be citizens are citizens. |

Message | 1. why would you need to know our capital city? 2. eventually they will learn things of our country 3. that probably wont hapen... 4. if someone gets citizenship they will already WANT to be citizens |

Message | 1. That's just an example. You see, if you have someone going into a country without any knowledge of it to live there, then they may not last long in our sophisticated society. It's for their own sake. 2. Eventually, yes, but if you throw a baby into a swimming pool, he might also learn to swim eventually. That is, if he doesn't drown first. See my point? 3. Why not? It happens in Code Green Immigration nations. 4. He means for the right reasons. Because there ARE other reasons to want easy citizenship other than to live in the nation etc. |

Message | The wording of the bill implies that people born in Darnussia won't be nationals until they pass a test, even tho they are born here |

Message | 1. they'll learn eventually, whats the problem? 2. so you say immigrants will be totally lost in our society if they dont pass a test? 3. even if this would happen it would not be that bad, what is nationality? a bunch of borders and living within those... 4. Criminal things yes but we have extradition laws so unless they come from a nation with death penalty etc... they'll be send back. |

Message | We should accept everyone yo, why should they learn something so useless as our culture? they could be learning about our politics, maths, and better stuff. Why not have a basic standards test for citizenship? |

It's a joke to have citizens of Darnussia that've been citizens for a decade that have happened to live in a cave all their lives not know the title of the HoS. 2. I don't know how we got to here... 3. Nationality is being a contributing citizen of your nation and that when confronted by a citizen of another nation, you are able to define yourself as a citizen of your own nation if you so choose. 4. Do people that do community service actually do it because they're nice, or because it looks good for college applications? HMM? |

Message | No, not for all nationals, I dont see why people born in Darnussia should be subjected to tests |
