Bill: The Supreme Court thing (again)

Details

Submitted by[?]: Frente de Libertação de Vintãli

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2569

Description[?]:

We propose the establishment of a Gaduridos Supreme Court of Justice, to have five justices, appointed by the legislature for staggered 5-year terms (OOC: 15 real-life days). The Supreme Court of Justice would have the power of judicial review.
(OOC: This would be RPd.)
(Note: This bill has the exact same text as both Supreme Court bills, and both almost passed, but due to abstentions neither bill had enough votes to pass with 2/3.)

MessageWhy is the Junta voting against a bill that would help to establish the rule of law in Gaduridos? Currently, we have no courts. Without courts, there is no way to put criminals on trial and nothing to prevent the Chamber of Deputies from passing an unconstitutional law.
