Bill: Budget proposal of July 2570

Details

Submitted by[?]: Democratic Capitalist Delegation

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill proposes to change the allocation of funds in the budget. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 2571

Description[?]:

I intend to propose a 1% tax cut, but also aim to keep our budget balanced. In order to accomplish this, we will need to slash an additional 1 billion TPD in spending.

Agriculture and trade are interests best left to the private sector, and so I propose to scale back on the expenditure of these invasive government TPDs.

On the other hand, the handling of the environment and justice is inherently a government responsibility, so I have proposed a small increase in the funding available to handle each. These increases have been accounted for and the appropriate 1 billion TPD will still be slashed from the budget.

MessageAs we believe a cut to Food and Agriculture will be of concern to some of the parties, we feel obligated to point out that the cut is quite modest, and the appropriate amount of subsidies/fiscal assistance is still perfectly fundable with the proposed number.

Random fact: Players have a responsibility to differentiate between OOC (out-of-character) and IC (in-character) behaviour, and to make clear when they are communicating in OOC or IC terms. Since Particracy is a role-playing game, IC excesses are generally fine, but OOC attacks are not. However, players must not presume this convention permits them to harass a player with IC remarks that have a clear OOC context.
