Message | The Democratic Alliance has long supported this in principle. There is, of course, a risk that a President would ignore the wishes of the majority of the Grand Council by refusing to nominate the type of Cabinet they want. However, if parties are determined enough to force through a particular Cabinet, they can call an early election and unite together to endorse a single candidate to oust the President in the Head of State election. |
Date | 01:32:36, September 19, 2005 CET | From | Progressive Liberal Party | To | Debating the Formation of Governments Amendment |
Message | The PLP will not support this very blatant and unattractive power-grab by Novy Smer. We believe it is the Grand Council which is representative of the will of the people and not the office of the Presidency. |
Date | 17:49:47, September 19, 2005 CET | From | Junker Party | To | Debating the Formation of Governments Amendment |
Message | As we did with the last attemptl we must vote no. This is a blatant opportunity for a party to grap autocratic power. |
Date | 01:37:11, September 20, 2005 CET | From | Civil Liberties Party | To | Debating the Formation of Governments Amendment |
Message | We are against this because we feel that it should be open for any party to purpose. |
