Description[?]:
It's an atrocious that the great people of this nation are required to work for 63 years. We have one of the highest retirement ages in the world; As well as one of the lowest ages for adulthood! It is unfair to the people to expect them to work for this long, when they should be enjoying the fruits of their labours. And no matter how you look at it age 12 is still a child, most 12 year olds have not even hit puberty. Make no mistake; we recognize that the youth of our nation are exceptionally intelligent; however it is unfair to put such responsibilities on a person who is just beginning their lives. I propose lowering the age of retirement to 65. and the age of adulthood to 16. |

Message | Retirement age is defined at the mandatory age at which one must retire. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retirement_age The age to which one must work for retirement funds is determined by the place of business at which they work. The company or entity sets up funding through the worker's career to be paid off depending on time put in. The government has no say in that. However, we feel that there should be no mandatory age of retirement at all - an option which cannot be chose, appearantly, in our laws. As for the age of adulthood, we support that everyone should be allowed to make choices and should pay whatever consequences flow as a result. This isn't an age of mandatory work; it is an age of choice. There are no restrictions to these ages of alcohol or tobacco; no forbidden fruit to tempt them into lives of addiction. |
