Bill: Senate Resolution on Titles

Details

Submitted by[?]: Meritocratic Alliance

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 2572

Description[?]:

Many years ago our nation emerged from the wastes of Nuncirism, bruised, scarred, but able to recover. It has since thrived as a Federal Republic and may it go on doing so.

In order to ensure our democratic principles are kept we therefore request the senate in majority pass this resolution.

I: Titles of landed nobility and orders of chivalry (duke, baron, earl, count, baronette, duchess, contessa, dame, knight, et cetera) are not issued by the state, nor are they recognized by the state as having any political worth.

II: Titles of nobility and chivalry issued in the past are retroactively ignored in official dealings.

III: Religious titles, and knighthoods granted by religious and fraternal institutions shall not infract any law, but shall not be recognized as governmental titles.

IV: While no penalty can or shall be imposed on those who assert clames to state issued titles beyond the title of their elected office, such persons can be spoken of as being mentally incompetant without threat of libel or slander suits being brough against them.

Baroness, chief Cmmr and Judge are not mentioned in this, so I can therefore proceed calling my people these titles without fear of being called mentally incompetent can't I??
