Message | "Might I remind you that because L'olam is not under control of the Knesset, and in fact, is under the control of no government whatsoever, all this Knesset can do is decide to refer to it as something else. We cannot make the people of L'olam call their nation differently. We suggest that the Senator revise the bill to change the name to which we will refer to the nation. And if we do this quickly, we might convince the people of L'olam to change their name voluntarily." -Judy Gottlos, Head Archon of the ARM [OOC] OK, I see how it would cause problems for RP. But I don't happen to like the name "Ness Ziona." Is there something more capitalistic that you have in mind? I'm soon going to create a forum for the newspaper of L'olam, and possibly an OOC discussion thread in the forum for it. If we're going to change the name, we have to change it before we do that, as I cannot change the names to the threads once created. And I really don't like the name "Ness Ziona;" it sounds just like another Jewish establishment, but this is something different, so it deserves something else; preferably capitalistic-sounding or perhaps "pirate-sounding." |

Message | OOC and IC: What about the name "Bat Yam" it means daughter of the sea, or Kiryat Yam, sea palace, or "Beit Shemesh" house of the sun all great names for the area. |

Message | Zion's palace sounds too religous. how about Bat Zion, "daughter of Zion". |

Message | "We just don't like the name "Bat" in the name, because of the English connotation for the word. Besides, "Bat" and "Yam" simply sound too disagreeable as well as weak." -Judy Gottlos, Head Archon of the ARM |

Message | I like that! I will put it in the bill. OOC: how did you translate that? |

Message | [OOC] If you type any word into Wiktionary, it has a list of translations for that word, and aside the ones that are in other alphabets (such as Hebrew), there is an English pronunciation in parentheses. Then, to verify I had the right word, I put the translated pronunciation word back into Wiktionary. When it came up with a Hebrew word, I copied the Hebrew text, and put it into a free online translator that does Hebrew: http://www.gts-translation.com/freetranslation.asp |
