Bill: KNF Expanded Education & Patriotism Bill

Details

Submitted by[?]: Nasjonal Front

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 2575

Description[?]:

We wish to raise the age of compulsary education from it's current low of 16 to a more suitable 18. A longer and more in-depth education for our young citizens will provide great benefits to our nation in the long term economically and culturally. Part-time jobs will still be allowed for those that want them inbetween studies.

We also propose that our national anthem is sung every morning. Singing is proven to increase brain activity and promote learning ability, while at the same time it will increase respect for Kazulia among our young.

MessageWe support Article 1, but oppose Article 2. Forcing children to sing the national anthem against their will is a violation of their freedom of speech. And how many children actually know what the words of the national anthem mean? Very few.

MessageChildren may not know the words or meaning of the words because they never sing it. This will allow them to learn about and memorise them along with building national pride.

MessageIf absolutely necessary we can adjust it to the lesser option of being required to show respect when the anthem is sung at the start of the day but the KNF does feel this is a weaker and less patriotic option.

MessageWe wish to encourage all of those, but not by restricting freedom of speech, as this bill would do.

MessageThis one:

Children are not made to sing the national anthem, but are required to show respect when it is played at the commencement of school each day.
