Bill: An End to Legislated Death
Details
Submitted by[?]: Nuovo Partito Di Machiavellian
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2114
Description[?]:
It is our opinion that the state does not have a moral position to legislate death either in the case of the death penatlty, nor through the use of weapons of mass destruction that target innocent popoulations. We can not propose changing the death penalty since that is part of another bill, but we can change our defense policies. We encourage you all to stop the madness. |

Message | We are 100% in support on this bill, although we respectfully disagree with your position on the death penalty. |
Date | 19:52:00, September 19, 2005 CET | From | Gaduridos National Party | To | Debating the An End to Legislated Death |
Message | We fully back your stance on the death penalty but will have to disagree with theses articles at the present time. While other nations are still willng to use such weapons, we should be prepared to do the same in retaliation to any future unforseen attacks. |

Message | I feel that we should be looking to disarm when the ratification of treaties is implemented, where the chemical and biological weapons disarmament treaty can be signed. This will hopefully be signed by all nations in Terra. Until then we must be prepared to fight fire with fire. |

Message | So GNP, if some mad man or woman uses chemical weapons against us, it's morally correct to use them in response? Standard weapons are sufficient as a matter of detterent threat. Our desire to have them only serves to make other nations feel that they have to have them. |

Message | If a nation attacks us with nuclear weapons then the GNP would support a nuclear strike back, only in retaliation, otherwise we would be enhililated, as other weapons would be insignificant. Like we said, once the traty has been ratified by our neighbouring nations, then we shall support |

Message | "If a nation attacks us with nuclear weapons then the GNP would support a nuclear strike back, only in retaliation, otherwise we would be enhililated, as other weapons would be insignificant." Our nation would be annihilated even with the ability to strike back, and the only reason someone would really have for wanting to totally destroy Gaduridos is if we have offended them somehow, or are planning to destroy their nation. If a nation wanted to invade and conquer Gaduridos, they would not annihilate us. They may use strategic nuclear attacks against military facilities. We believe that if Gaduridos is not the aggressor in such a conflict, our nation will be supported by others that see the use of nuclear weapons as abhorrent. |

Message | We would be dead either way...and they would be left with a radioactive wasteland. Strategic nuclear attacks are overkill for "strategic" attacks and run the risk of missing their mark. Also, international pressure would be retaliation for using such weapons. Unless the Totalitarian Party is planning on attacking someone else first, why would someone do this? |

Message | The Totalitarian Party is supporting this bill. You basically said what I tried to say. We have no reason nor desire to attack another nation. |

Message | The DCP will continue to support this bill under its new leadership. |
