Message | If it posed a potential risk wouldn't we be able to find another reason to split them up like they're carrying guns or something? |
Date | 06:50:29, May 14, 2008 CET | From | The Liberal Party | To | Debating the Right to Assemble Act |
Message | The law now does not allow law enforcement officers to do that, even if they are carrying guns. The proposed law will allow them to split the group up. |

Message | This law would allow any police officer to disperse any group they see as a potential safety risk. It does not specify the requirment for a group to be decleared a safety risk, so it will up to the police to interpet this, and this can easily be missused. |

Message | Other citizens' security is important. We have some radical groups that are prone to use violence. |

Message | Our citizens private rights are equally as importent as there security. Radical groups are not a big problem, and certainly not a big enough concern to justify something like this. |

Message | A law like this is needed, I don't need to justify it more than I already have. |
Date | 22:14:35, May 14, 2008 CET | From | Lodamun Libertarian Party | To | Debating the Right to Assemble Act |
Message | A law like this is never needed, its only a tool for a police state, not for a state with any respect for civil liberties |

Message | I am going to bring up an example from real life, something I don't like to do often. Is the United States of America a police state? |

Message | Well it has gotten worse after the patriot act. The thing I dont like with this bill is that is too wide, and gives the police too much power, since it allows the police to disperse groups based on what they belive at that time. |

Message | The police are the ones in the situation, we can't decide for them because we are not there to determine it. As for the Patriot Act, I love it. Even though my fellow Democrats will differ with me. If Mr.Dean finds out, I'll get thrown out of the DNP AND the DNC. |
