MessageHow does this help the people though? You seem to be using that argument a lot lately and I have been failing to see how it applies in some circumstances.

MessageWe agree with the KPP. This is awful for the people, as it is essential that shelf lives are enforced to protect public health.

MessageThe PEOPLE get to choose what they want through local govn'ts much better than through the federal system. PEOPLE KNOW WHAT TO DO. If they want fewer shelf life restrictions, then let them have it. We represent them, we should do our best so that they can have their voice in how THEIR nation works. It's as simple as this: If local govn'ts have more power, then the people are better represented. If we are a responsable govn't, then we want the people to be better resprented. Therefore, if we are a responsable govn't, then we want more power for local govn'ts.

MessageAnd the people here elected a majority of members of the assembly that want to protect them from harmful food. It is too bad that there are people who want stores to be able to sell rotten food, but for now at least they are not the majority.

MessageWe do not wish to take the risk of shelf lives not being enforced anywhere, even if merchants buy off a local city council to vote not to require them.

MessageHe is doing what a certain president on a nation called Earth does, who shall remain nameless but is in charge of the most powerful country on that planet as of 2005-- confusing what is good for corporations with what is good for the people.
