Message | I just like the word congress better than parliament.... |

Message | OOC: more american? :) RP: Congress represents more "federal" name, so to say. RDF likes the word congress more, or considers it more appropriate to our federal- confederal- commonwealth political system in Rutania. Although we do not have congressional (presidential) system. |

Message | What does Liberal Party think about this? This is one opportunity for all of us to unite in voting for this law. |

Message | Congress does actually fit more to the whole Commonwealth government, parliament has a more monarchist feel to it for some odd reason. |

Message | OOC: Well, I don't know - I live in Australia, a federal nation (not to mention that it's called the Commonwealth of Australia), and we have a "Federal Parliament" see; Congress sounds no more nor less Federal to me. IC: We suppose we can be convinced into supporting. |

Message | The motivation is eventually to give something "rutanian", original, to our institutions' names. Currently, our names are generic: President, Prime Minister, Parliament. Maybe we should choose something more "ours"... |
Date | 22:52:12, May 22, 2008 CET | From | Commonwealth Party | To | Debating the Constitutional Amendment |
Message | Rutanian Congressional Assembly Rutanian Council Assembly of the Rutanian People Those are just a few from the top of my head. the first choice seems nice in my opinion. Not unless everybody wants to go with the "Assembly of Pimps, Hoes, and Gangstas"...and just be the first government to tell everybody the truth about politics because thats what they elect. Just jokin(I joke a lot)... |
Date | 23:21:30, May 22, 2008 CET | From | Imperium Party | To | Debating the Constitutional Amendment |
Message | Having a President and Parliament do not fit so we have to change the name of one of em, maybe change President to Lord Protector of Rutunia, while we keep the same Parliament and HoG. |
Date | 23:22:36, May 22, 2008 CET | From | Imperium Party | To | Debating the Constitutional Amendment |
Message | Plus the IP are in big favour to change the name of President, because having both a President and Primeminister doesn't make sense. |
Date | 00:35:04, May 23, 2008 CET | From | Rutanian Democratic Forum | To | Debating the Constitutional Amendment |
Message | Well, we don't change our political system here. Lord Protector belongs to monarchy or to some dictatorship. President presides the country, he or she is a supreme commander of armed forces, he represents the state in international relations, and oversee the functioning of the government. The Prime Minister presides the country government and leads the executive politics (combined with legislative initiative). So simple as that. We propose something as: Congress of the Commonwealth + maybe Chancellor or something for the Prime Minister... |
Date | 17:17:34, May 23, 2008 CET | From | Rutania Shaor | To | Debating the Constitutional Amendment |
Message | Rutania Shaor do not feel official titles should be changed for the sake of it. It makes perfect sense to have both a President and a Prime Minister. As for the proposal in hand, whereas we could be convinced in the future that Congress might be a more suitable title than Parliament for our glorious legislative assembly, there must surely be more relevant concerns in modern Rutania. For that reason alone, for now we will vote against this change. |

Message | We say change Prime Minister. We like congress. |

Message | Congratulations, we now have Congress of Rutania in Rutania! :-) |
