Bill: A Trial, Reconciliation, and Return to Normalcy

Details

Submitted by[?]: Imperial Pluralism Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2580

Description[?]:

No one could deny that the last years have been turbulent ones for all Sekowans. We came to the brink of nuclear chaos, the parties have been locked in bickering and distrust, and the Hutori war has been forced by necessity to an unsatisfactory end. We feel that the political focus should shift once again to more productive areas-- the security of our Dovani holdings and the development of our new judicial system. To these ends, we propose the following:

1. the DSP renounce ties to and condemn Kayabuki and cease to lobby for empire in the form of the ISP.
2. the trial of Kayabuki be held in the administrative judicial system. As such, the cabinet will decide the case and offer a verdict and a sentence. We will try to avoid an appeal to the legislature.
3. we begin a new focus on the security of Dovani in our legislation. A renewed interest in the "Dovani for Dovanians" concept will help in this area immensely.

We cannot, of course, enforce any of these suggestions if this bill is passed. We only hope to have a unanimous vote and a consensus among our parties, because no matter our ideologies, we are all Sekowans, and the world is still a dangerous place.

MessageWe support. We should be most concerned about the citizenry of Sekowo. We believe that applying these ideas will be best for Sekowo, both internally and internationally.

Message1. We already changed back to the DSP, though we still promote expanding our borders do to the recent threats from non-Dovanian nations, of course we also think that we should encourage Lourenne and Talmoria (Lourenne first mind) to expand into Southern Dovani as well.

2. Kayabuki is dead, so unless you plan on putting a corpse on trial, there is no need to waste tax payer money on it.

3. We support, as this has always been one of our key beliefs.

Messageehh, we're still trying her. This is about "reconciliation," not "amnesia." It means that we take the blame from your party and put it on one person.

MessageSeeing as the DSP has refused to allow the trial of Kayabuki (she "died in a fire"), we withdraw our support for reconciliation for the time being.

MessageBreaking news from Beiteynu:

June 2580
Announcement from the Government of the Sixth Jewish Homeland of Beiteynu

This press message was released by the Government of the Sixth Jewish Homeland of Beiteynu.
The Jewish Homeland of Beiteynu condemns Sekowo for it's murder of 10,000, with more than half of them civilians, using nuclear weapons. They have killed so many people and we can not let them do that.

According to Wycliffe Kilkenny, Chairman of the AFFS, "Kayabuki, responsible for ordering the attack, went directly against Sekowan national law, and, although we were unable to try her before her death."

We see Sekowo (specifically the ISP) as hostile, and trouble to peace. Their reckless use of nuclear weapons must be stopped.

For the Homeland,

Signed,
the Government of the Sixth Jewish Homeland of Beiteynu

In light of these statements, we choose to vote against this bill, and, as we have always said, to push for the trial of Kayabuki more sternly than before.

We would also like to condemn the Government of Beiteynu for mis-quoting one of our leaders, a gross error which should never be made by any competent and objective government.

MessageOOC:
Nopw hold on.
The missiles were aimed at purely military facilities far away from civillian population centers.

The only ones who killed civillians were the Unionists who launched a chemical attack againtst the city of Farbanti.

Random fact: Cultural Protocol bills must provide a real-life equivalent or short description for the ethnic groups, languages and religions contained in them, such that it would be easy for an unfamiliar player to understand (e.g. "Dundorfian = German"). Where appropriate, they should also provide guidance to players on where to find help with translations and character names. This might include, for example, links to Google Translate, Behind the Name's Random Name Generator and Fantasy Name Generators.

Random quote: "Anarchism is not a romantic fable but the hardheaded realization, based on five thousand years of experience, that we cannot entrust the management of our lives to kings, priests, politicians, generals, and county commissioners." - Edward Abbey
