Bill: Obscenity Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Humanic Republicanist Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2581
Description[?]:
Bestiality is not only cruel to animals, but it is also a health risk. Sexual acts performed with animals can bring about horrible diseases that we should attempt to prevent. The HRP submits that bestiality be made illegal. As well, sex in public places should be made illegal. It is indecent that people do such things out in the public eye, instead of indoors or in private property where such thing belong. This bill will be open for a period of debate, then set to vote. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The government's policy regarding bestiality (performing sexual acts with animals).
Old value:: The government has no policy concerning bestiality.
Current: Bestiality is illegal.
Proposed: Bestiality is illegal.

Message | Our party would actually support the change in policy regarding beastiality; but we approve of the second measure. If the bill is proposed as is, we'll likely vote against, if the article on public displays of affection etc were removed we would vote in favor. Message | We have no qualms with public displays of affection. This law would only make public intercourse illegal. Things like people having sexual intercourse on benches in public parks or museums and such. We don't want to stop kissing, hugging or other such displays of affection, just displays of intercourse. Pretty much "out of sight, out of mind". |

Message | And the members of my party don't have a problem with the law as it stands, let the people do as they will and if you don't like, don't watch. If you want our support to pass the bill remove the second article and try to pass it separately and we'll vote in favor of the first article. But if the two articles remain together then we'll vote against the bill, simple as that. Leonard Nozick Party Leader Telamon Minarchist Party |

Message | The HRP makes an interesting case to outlaw bestiality, but we echo the statement of the TMP when we say we do not favor regulating public displays of affection. James Lott Chairman Democratic Capitalist Delegation |
