Message | The HRP will vote for this bill if the following things are added: 1. If the parliament has a 2/3 majority vote to do something that would break the treaty, the treaty is considered dissolved and no penalties are enforced. This allows changing governments to not be bound by old alliances. 2. Remove anything to do with extradition requiring us to remove the death penalty. They are criminals against our country, and are subject to our laws no matter what. Their moral judgment has no place in our justice system 3. Border control should be the same for everyone, no matter where they're from. |

Message | If there is asuch a change in the make-up of parliament, that 2/3 would be willing to do something against it, then they can always withdraw from the treaty first. We are willing to give up the extradition clause, but not the movement of people between Endralon and Telamon. The free movement of people is one of the cornerstones of the treaty. Message | Article VIII Citizens of Telamon and Endralon should be allowed to move easily between the two nations. Border checks for any citizen of one nation attempting to enter the other should not be overly invasive or subject such citizens to the same scrutiny as those hailing from hostile nations We can not agree with this and will be voting against, we need to be able to secure our borders at any time we need and not be hampered by treaties. |
Date | 15:20:26, May 31, 2008 CET | From | New Liberal Party of Endralon | To | Debating the Ratification of the Telamon/Endralon Northern Alliance Agreement |
Message | We understand the need for stringent security checks and border control, and accept the TNP's fears. But we ask them to note that the clause says OVERLY invasive, meaning that there is still room for sufficient security checks, and it would be expected that people would move between our two nations through official avenues. There are two reasons we want freer movement of people between Endralon and Telamon. Firstly, we expect it to foster mutual understanding one anothers cultures, which will bring us closer and give us a basis for mutual dependence in economic and strategic matters. Secondly, both our economies will benefit from having professionals, entrepenuers and even unskilled workers having a chance to achieve their aspirations in one another's countries, or even set up businesses in both. The sky is the limit. In peace and freedom, John Stuart Menzies First Minster of The Republic of Endralon |
