Message | The Free Enterprise Act of 2575 (the 2570 version having been defeated) required that it be "carried out in full" not less than five years following its passage, and it did not give the Minister of Industry the "power to privatize State owned industries", it REQUIRED the Minister to do so. The Minister must either oversee the immediate sale of state owned industries as required by the Act, or he must step down and make room for someone who will. |

Message | Privatisation of all industry will reduce costs to the government and allow tax reductions to take place. The CLP sees this as beneficial to the country and will oppose this new act. Nationalisation is a dangerous tool to place in the hands of government. |
Date | 05:58:49, May 29, 2008 CET | From | Vanuku Nationalists Party | To | Debating the Industrial Sector Act |
Message | The ’75 act dictates that the Minister shall make provisions to sell Nationalized Industry, and that that acting shall be completed within 5 years. The Minister serving at the time was Josh Osseriech (Nationalists) and completed the provisions within the time period. The actually sale of the Industry was put down to the Minister, with consultation with the Chancellor. Since the time of the Act’s passing there have been 2 Chancellor changes, one electing Mr. Osseriech himself, no such order has occurred or been enforced. Nationalists control of Trade and Industry insures the protection of workers within this Industries. Current Minister Peter Collins stands by the Control of standing nationalized industry and protection of workers within them. If Government were to loss control to highest bidder, or however we choose to rid these Industries, we couldn’t hold ourselves to this Government. The Nationalists are proposing a meeting on common ground. Privatization will occur of all Nationalized Industry if this act gives the power to the Government to regain control of Industries in Financial misfortune. Thus insuring workers safety and Economic soundness for Vanuku overall. We would also recommend that if we are to sell of Industry, we make in on a share based release with the Trade and Industry Ministry control a large, but not Majority share in this industries. Or a staged sell off. Immediate Privatization of so many Industries will lead to economic turmoil. |
