Bill: Reform of the Senate Bill

Submitted by[?]: Conservative Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Description[?]:

We propose drastically reducing the number of Senators. Have gone with the CWP's suggestion, although reduced it by a further one, so as to ensure that ties are still prevented if all Senators vote.

MessageDear fellows,
wise men have discovered and proved a law how the assembly size depends on population:

In short, number of MPs are approximately cube root of the total population. So, if we have 195,132,107 inhabitants, the optimum Senate size is 580.

MessageAlthough it is not a big issue for us, we wish to see a leaner Senate, as the government doesn't have a great deal to do, so the removal of 106 Senators should be seen as a useful first step.
