Bill: Against the Poverty Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Rutanian Democratic Forum
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 2584
Description[?]:
There are always some unemployed people in our country. There will always be. But we cannot pretend that they are left on the margins of society. Some people are gulity by themselves if they get unemployed, but most of them aren't. We must ensure them not to live under the poverty line. Therefore, we propose a period of 3 month of very basic incomes guaranteed by the state (our administration will rebalance the budget and we have enough money for this). So, this people have 3 months to find another job. It is a least thing which we can do, because everyone has a right to work. |

Message | Nobody has a right to work, you just have the right of the opportunity to work....(im being stupid pay no attention to the previous statement). We support this proposal, but this should only compensate unemployed people who are ACTIVELY looking for a job but cant, but we think a 3 month period is a month to long and would love to see a 2 month period but overall we support. |

Message | In a capitalist system there is always unemployment, because unlike in a socialist system full employment and the welfare of the citiizen is not the goal. As such there are periods of prolonged unemployment, or even permanent unemployment, and introducing merely subsistence level welfare limited to just three months is to ignore the system we live in, and an insult to those in poverty. The leaders of the Labour Party are lucky to have never suffered poverty, and thus they do not judge the unemployed or the poor. It is clear other parties use a contrasting system to understand the world and those around them. |
