Message | All workers have the right to strike? What about nurses striking when there's a group of people hanging onto life by a thread, or policemen striking or firemen, so that when a fire starts, nobody is there to help? Public servants or people whose occupations are absolutely vital to society should not have the right to strike - this is completely irresponsible. We need to think of the rights of the people and their security first - if vital workers want to be so selfish at the expense of others, perhaps they shouldn't have chosen a job based on helping the community. As for article 1, the HCC has always been a party that thoroughly frowns upon trade unions, striking, and activism in general. We believe that it is essentially a way of blackmailing business owners to bring about outcomes that may be destructive to business, and therefore, to the economy. If individuals have a problem with their pay, or their conditions, they can speak with their employer and negotiate the situation, or simply leave their job - trade unions are just selfish thugs constantly complaining, coercing and bullying so that they can get their way, even if their demands are completely unreasonable. We do not support the the right of secondary strike action and we believe that the status quo is preferable. |

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play". |
