MessageWe won't say that (usual) pornography is of a great educational value, but if a person wants to (ahem) singlehandedly please himself at noon, why should not be any offer to satisfy his demand?

In a more serious argument, responsible parents can find the way to prevent their children from watching pornography (if they want to; not everyone is as puritan as the Communists seem to be), and trying to limit its broadcasting to certain hours is just another attack on the freedom of broadcasters to put whatever they please on antenna as long as it doesn't harm anyone. As for whether pornography can "harm" a child's mind:
1.- Sex is a normal function of the human body, just like running or eating - and sports/cooking programs are not banned. It is only the puritanism coming mainly from the religious, patriarchal origins of our social structures that we see sex as something "taboo", which might be inherently bad and dirty. THIS has done (and will continue to do, for centuries to come) a lot of damage to hundreds of generation, making them seek expiation from a sin that is not so.
2.- Explicit TV violence can twist a youngster's mind more than sex, and we're not only talking about movies, but also news programs, in which explosions, corpses, domestic violence, racism, etc, are explicitly shown all day long. If we trust citizens to be able to cope with this, then why not sex?

Thus, we think that the reasons for this regulation are compelling enough to enact this law. Besides, in the world of today, with VCRs, DVDs and the Internet, such a law would be highly ineffective, and we have enough dinosaurs on the law books. We vote "no".

Random fact: It usually takes up to an hour for election results to generate. During this time, the "Next Election" date is put forward a month, which is confusing. Do not worry! In a short time, the election result will generate and the "Next Election" date will then correct itself.
