Message | Where can I cut more? We need to get a positive surplus. |
Date | 00:19:27, June 04, 2008 CET | From | Federal Republican Party (ZC) | To | Debating the Budget proposal of April 2586 |
Message | "A positive surplus is not by default of it's nomenclature positive. Our surplus was obscene and I seen nothing positive come out of it. The increases in spending set forward in my tenure have done nothing but aide our economy on the road to extraordinary economic growth. As well, running a deficit is not always bad. We live in an international community and with a basic understanding of trade on such levels one easily recognize the value of a deficit and not a surplus. The F.R.P. supports some measure of cuts in the budget at this point in time and given the heated debated that is always brought on by these proposals we encourage our colleagues in the Brabantic Freedom Party to reach out to all for a common solution." Message | A surplus could be gained by raising taxes as much as it could be by cutting our spending. Our GDP has been pushed up by more than 1,000,000,000 ZAR through increased expenditures of approximately 650,000,000 ZAR, so at the moment we are getting tremendous bang for our spending buck, which goes back into the pockets of the people. Cutting those expenditures down, consequently hurting our GDP and thus hurting the money that goes back to the average citizen, is not the best path to go on. |
