| Message | We strongly encourage the PLP to reconsider their stance on this matter. Presently, each Imperial Diet constituency represents about 406,983 people. In our view, this is far from representative and could even be construed as undemocratic. By implementing this measure, this situation will be adjusted so that one Diet Member will now represent about 313,064 people. While still massive, this is far fairer. (OOC: For comparison, the UK House of Commons has about one MP for every 90,000 people) We'd also like point out that the number has not been randomly selected. This was the number of Diet Member seated from April 2376, the first election after the imperial restoration, until the end of the monarchy in the 25th century. |
