Message | The Commonwealth Party has been equally divided on this issue for a long time. If a child voluntarily wants to work then they should have that right to with additional regulations and it may help out their family. But the sight of seeing a child working when they should be playing is just heart breaking. The Commonwealth Party is starting to see that this proposal just gives a child the right to voluntarily work, it doesn't force children into labour. |

Message | But since the adult age is 16, why would a business want to hire anyone younger than that? We would support now simply because we think it should be someone's choice to work or not to work no matter what age. But with the additional regulations that businesses have to follow, hiring someone younger than 16 would be discouraged. But the additional regulations help if a child does work... |
