Bill: Tobacco sales

Details

Submitted by[?]: Pariah Idealism

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 2588

Description[?]:

I hope you agree that it's useless to have the rule that citizens (of all ages as it doesn't state age) can put anything into their bodies. However our current rule is that only adults may buy tobacco. Either we change this rule or tighten up drug regulation. As I don't want to do that I'm proposing this first, but if it's not passed then I have no option but to tighten drug regulations.

MessageI am a bit confused about the argument in the bill description, You are gonna thighen drug control if you cant pass a bill to lossen it up a little?

But anyway the government should not empose any laws on what a citizen can put into there body, the citizen must take the choice and responsibility for what happens themself

MessageHow can you say that kids are responsible for their actions? A 6 years old cannot possibly know the consequences of smoking tobacco and take responsability for it. Your love for small government clearly puts in danger our citizens, especially little kids.

MessageA 6 year old cannot possibly think "Oh, let's go buy cigarettes and smoke them." The farthest it would ever go is the kid find a cigarette asks what it is and gets an answer. They wouldn't know to smoke it or to light it.

LLP: That's exactly what I mean. Our laws should match. Otherwise, people get confused.

MessageTrust me, they think about "let's buy a cigarette" if family members smoke. Legally, we cannot let them smoke.

MessageNo they wonder what its like, and parents who want to let them try it will do so. Otherwise not. If they let them do so, 6 years don't think "This is so cool I'll do it even though I hate the taste, smell, feel, etc."

MessageAnd its the parent job to raise the children, not the governments job.

Random fact: When your party holds the foreign affairs department, you can create new treaties. However, before writing anything new, it is a good idea to search for existing treaties which already accomplish what you desire.

Random quote: "Ask the experimenters why they experiment on animals, and the answer is: "Because the animals are like us." Ask the experimenters why it is morally okay to experiment on animals, and the answer is: "Because the animals are not like us." Animal experimentation rests on a logical contradiction." - Charles R. Magel
