MessageWe actually support this legislation, though we do have a number of reservations.
For example, we would eventually like to keep women out of the military, unless in some sort of desk-job, medic, or other non-battle positions.
We are also hesitant about Article 1 - whilst we certainly don't approve of these weapons, and do not advocate their manufacture or use in warfare, we generally oppose any legislation that restricts our nation's capacities in warfare. Any legislation limiting our own countries defence capabilities is only damaging our own national security, for no reason other than a symbollic protest against such weapons, and this could be dangerous in terms of foreign relations. For example, if other nations are prepared to manufacture nuclear weapons, but they know that Trigunia has legislated against the manufacture and use of nuclear weapons, they are automatically at a great advantage over us.
We certainly don't approve of these weapons, but at the same time, we must strive never to limit our own military capabilities, even if we don't intend to excercise them.
