Bill: Nationalist Agenda for Change: Employment and Rights!

Details

Submitted by[?]: Telamon National Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 2589

Description[?]:

We feel that the workers of Telamon need more rights and protection which they do not yet have, Employers are able to use and abuse workers. We feel that this must stop now and in doing that we will build a happy workforce which will be efficient.

We suggest that people should not work more than 14 hours per day and 70 hours per week.

MessageAlso, I could not support a 70-hour resolution. An extreme maximum is 40 hours, with 35 being favoured.

MessageClarification: we also would support article II, just not under the provisions which the TNP has laid out in this bill.

Message70 hours per week means 14 hours per 5 days with 2 days off, these can be decided upon by the employer. We see that the working hours suggested as being fair to both workers and employers, we need an efficient nation as much as we need a healthy nation.

MessageWe feel that 8-10 hours of work per day would make our workers most efficient, and so whether some employers believe 14 hour shifts are "reasonable" or not, we will not support them. We promote maximum efficiency policies in regards to economic issues.
