Bill: A Petition to Crown Prince Matthew Yišsérles

Details

Submitted by[?]: HaLeumit Tikvah

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 2592

Description[?]:

"Again, I am afraid I must express my concern to the Crown Prince over his marriage to Princess Jackie Kennedy. The simple fact is that, regardless of the circumstances of their marriage, the consequences would be dire for Beiteynu should the Monarchy be granted their rightful place again.

The Kennedy family, apart from being staunch and discriminatory Catholics, have made a concentrated effort to include themselves in Royalties throughout Terra. It is married to the Royal families of Malivia, Luthori, and Hulstria, and now looks to take control as Monarchs of Deltaria. Some of these nations are our natural enemies, others openly anti-semitic, and all pose a threat to the independence of a royal Beiteynu. It would turn our Royal line into one divided between loyalty to the Homeland and loyalty to protecting its family abroad.

Royalism is still unpopular within the HaLeumit Tikvah, indeed within Beiteynu as a whole. Republicans can easily scoff at the idea of a Monarchy while its creation would leave us entangled in the affairs of alien and rightfully distrusted nations, and I cannot give them a good or even truthful answer in support of the House of Yišsérles, for in truth I know too that the ascension of the Crown Prince and his descendents to their rightful place will have dire consequences for Beiteynu.

So I must urge to the Crown Prince: for the benefit of Beiteynu, annul his marriage, or I shall be forced to withdraw my support for his Royal ambitions, and support a more fitting candidate."

MessageIn every country that we have traveled to we have opposed mandatory membership of state religion and much to our dismay we are sometimes overruled. The Kennedy family although in the majority Catholic is tolerant of the Jewish religion and in Jackie's case celebrates it. As for Deltaria, we are leaving that land for good as soon as the year is out.

We had an arrangement with the only party at the time, the Labour Party to have a Monarchy for the Kennedy family in Deltaria. It was a near certainty as the Labour Party had all of the seats. But right before the vote for the Monarchy was to take place, the Labour Party abstained defeating our goal. Soon thereafter foreign individuals swarmed Deltaria and collapsed the Monarchy fully. Raeanne Kennedy, the wife of Steven P. Kennedy IV has received death threats from these foreign entities. But in this case there was no war nor violence, everything was peacefully negotiated politically.

The Kennedy family is ambitious but not at the expense of the Jews. We fought for religious freedom in Luthori and were successful and we have fought against communists who would forbid religion all together. We created a treaty in Luthori stating that we would defend the Jews in time of conflict.

We also point out that Jackie's son Isaac would be overly dismayed by the annulment of his parents marriage. And furthermore, the marriage should stand as it was not a political marriage. We would like to continue to negotiate, but we are not certain as to what is demanded of us. If you have any requests we would be happy to receive them.

Message"Our objection is that the Kennedy family line will align us with nations we would otherwise have no cause to fight with Already the Monarchy finds itself with ties to our one time occupier Luthori, to Hulstria, while we continue a century-old dispute over land in the New World. Malivia also has ambitions in its region; while it does not do so at present, it seems inevitable this will lead to conflict with our allies in Darnussia. And where will yourambitions take you next? To our enemies in Pontesi or Sekowo, or to align us with some nation half the World away whos events should not concern us?

It does not matter whether this is political marriage or not; a good King should know to put the interests of his country above his own desires. The simple fact is that should the Monarchy be restored, marriage into Kennedy family would tie this countries diplomacy in knots. From that viewpoint, we do not see any room for negotiation, and must withdraw our support for Matthew Yišsérles as legitimate ruler of Beiteynu."

Message"The Ma'avak movement, oursleves historic supporters of the Beiteynuese monarchy, must regrettably agree with the words of Mr Ben-Zvi. The Crown Prince has made a deliberate move against the well being of Beiteynu and of the Jewish people and we cannot support these actions. We move for his immediate abdication (OOC: Can he abdiate if he is not actually King?) of Matthew Yišsérles in favour of his younger brother Solomon. If not we shall move for the political stripping of all ceremonial powers currenly held by the Beta Yišsérles"

-- Rosh HaMemshala Joel Smashnova

OOC: I'm not really sure what I mean by ceremonial powers but I would assume that even though it is not officially in power, the monarchy would, due to its history and public support, have some sort of priveleges. These could include a palace somewhere, tax exemption, diplomatic immunity etc etc. What does everyone think?

MessageOOC: Yeah i would imagine they would still be allowed to live in palaces that belong to the State and have different priveleges due to history.

IC: "I thank the Rosh HaMemshala for his support on this matter. We feel the solution he offers is the correct course of action, and request the Crown Prince do what is right for Beiteynu."

MessageIt appears the only way to establish your loyalty is to prove it in your government halls. We will prove legislatively and otherwise that we will defend the Jewish people. Expect our arrival shortly.

MessageAccording to Jewish law I and my wife must support the marriage and bless it. Me and my wife were not informed of this wedding! In fact we were told by reporters about it before our son. So I hear by tell the people of the homeland that i do not bless this marriage. And according to Jewish law you can not then get married in a proper Jewish Wedding, and that means that he an not marry her and become the king in the future. A toast to a JEWISH ONLY Royal Family!
