Message | the state has no claim over the lives of its citizens - it exists to serve them, not to dominate them. there's nothing fluffy about insisting on the sovereign rights of individuals, the foremost of which is life itself. |

Message | Actually... we do. They voted us into office, and we shall carry out that office as we see fit. We are accountable, if they don't like it, they'll vote us out. Things like letting in all refugees and just releasing prisoners of war is sheer lunacy |

Message | L'État, c'est moi? your generous assumptions regarding your own privileges aside, it's naive to assume that powers granted to your office will not be abused by its next holder. either way, we are unconvinced that it is ethically responsible to accept hierarchical power even with the consent of the oppressed. a people used to its chains and well indoctrinated will "willingly" submit to slavery. that is no excuse to oppose emancipation. democracy without absolute equality is a farce. |

Message | That's not true at all, a people in slavery, when given the choice, will free themselves (OOC: look at india!). Yes, there may be abuse of powers, but with terms as short as just over two years the legislature is held easily accountable for themselves. OOC: Look who's talking HKA! |

Random fact: Players are expected to behave in a courteous, co-operative manner and make a reasonable effort to act with the consent of all players involved, even where the rules do not make consent strictly necessary. In particular, players have a responsibility to take reasonable care that other players are not misinformed either about the role-play or the Game Rules. |
