Bill: Destruction of the Anti-Working Class Militias
Details
Submitted by[?]: Marxist-Leninist Revival
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2591
Description[?]:
Private weapon ownership is the most severe threat to the stability of the nation and of the revolution. It goes without saying that in terms of an armed conflict, the bourgeoisie can out-fund and therefore out-supply any working class organisation. The retention of private militias again promotes sectional interests and gives counter-revolutionary elements the means to confront the workers state with their full force. |

Message | Malivia Left does not believe that article one will improve safety in Malivia. Giving the police extra powers to do as they wish and disperse any group they see fit will end up giving the police too much power, and risk conflict between the police force and the people. As for article two, we believe that firearms are only necessary for professional reasons, such as security guards. Therefore, we believe the current legislation on this issue is satisfactory. |

Message | Malivia Left once again proves itself a bulwark of reactionary thought which, despite (perhaps) good intentions, seeks to keep the working man shackled. Security Guards, hired by the bourgeoisie to protect their stolen property, to break strikes and to ensure compliance and capitalist order amongst the working class are not necessary for society. As for article 1, the police force shall become an organised wing of the proletariat, in conjunction with our foundation of a working class militia. There will be no conflict with the people; they will be the people. Their only purpose will be to protect the people. |

Message | The Marxist Leninist Revival is once again proving that it has no idea what Malivia Left is standing for. Malivia Left understands that in the your supposed 'ideal' world, guns could be banned and the police force would be organised by the proletariat, but the fact of the matter is that Malivia is not a free communist nation. Malivia is capitalist. Malivia does not believe that the so-called 'bourgeoisie' has 'stolen property'. Malivia Left asks that the MLR understand that we are not in a free communist society, and therefore laws that would suit that sort of society are not going to improve Malivia the way it is. Perhaps if the MLR were to gain a majority in a future election, these policies would pass, but until then, under the government coalition, these policies are not productive. |

Message | What is the only obstacle to acheiving what you describe as a 'free communist nation'? The oppurtunistic and narrow-minded political elite of the nation. Your argument is based upon circular logic, and a self-fullfilling propechy - these policies will not work because they won't work. Besides which, we don't expect the current administration to implement our proposals - that would be a ridiculous and whimsical strategy. Of course the bourgeois parties will not seek to radically change society from the roots up. We propose these items as agitational tools - to raise political consciousness of the working class, to build support for an alternative and to prepare the ground for our revolutionary cadre to seize the bourgeois state, destroy it and begin the creation of a proletarian state. |
