Message | Our nation can simply not afford this hefty a tax cut. A less generous cut, such as 7 or 8% would be acceptable. You have also not outlined any changed in spending. |

Message | Mr Speaker, As my Rt Hon Friend from the LCU said: we simply cannot afford this. On the other hand: everyone can afford a tithe on their purchases: and not only the "poor" buy food and clothing – rich people buy larger quantities of more expensive food, and still buy non-luxury clothing, paying more tax than their less hard-working counterparts. |

Message | Mr Speaker, The revenue lost through abolishing this tax could easily be recouped by increasing taxes on the rich and the luxury goods they gorge themselves on. Arthur Smith (General Secretary of Her Majesty's Loyal Trade Unionists) |

Message | Mr Speaker, The rich already pay more tax because they earn more and spend more. Perhaps our honoured guest would like me to explain percentages to him? |

Message | Mr Speaker, The rich class in Luthori is amongst the least taxed in all of Terra, paying only 10% on income and 10% on luxury goods. That this state of affairs is allowed to continue, whilst millions of ordinary Luthorians live in poverty and without access to basic services, is scandalous enough. However, the scandal is doubly more so when the poor are compelled to pay taxes on the goods which are vital for their being able to live!
