Message | RDF has a firm opinion about this, we cannot support the ratification. Reasons are: 1) we support that there should be no mandatory service, but we want to keep such an option in case of war or threat to national security. We don't want to take any international obligations concerning that issue, cosindering that Artania is a very conflict area. 2) Prisoners of war must be treated with care - we can't support that there are some other options to this issue, so that this treaty can be ratified by governments which mistreat their POWs. We think that such a treaty would be pure hipocrisy and contradictory. 3) We only fully support article 3, but because of articles 1 and 2 this treaty cannot receive our support in this National Congress. Message | We fully agree with articles I and III, but are worried by the provisions of Article II - which allows for the execution and 'mistreatment' of enemy combatants. As such we cannot support this treaty, as much as we would like to for the positive changes it does include. |

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play". |
