Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 2595

As Parliament has expressed interest in excluding paramilitary bodies from governmental business, we must implement a specific law to avoid confusion.

Article I
All subsequent articles shall apply to all officially registered political parties or any organization which holds seats in the Parliament of Telamon

Article II
No applicable organization shall provide the funding by which to arm its members, private citizens, or any other entity.

Article III
No applicable organization shall provide wages, salaries, or any other form of compensation (monetary or otherwise) to party members, private citizens, or any other individuals in exchange for services which mandate the use of any type of armament.

Article IV
No applicable organization shall issue orders, requests, recommendations, or other forms of prompting to any private citizen or private organization which calls for aggressive or violent physical actions.

Article V
Any applicable organization suspected to be in violation of any article listed in this bill shall be subject to investigation, and if the findings of such an investigation reveal certain guilt, the party in question shall be subject to a punishment agreed upon by Parliament.

MessageIt should be noted that this bill does not:

- Outlaw the employment of private security firms
- Infringe upon the rights of party members to own or possess firearms
- Infringe upon the rights of party members, party supporters, or other individuals to assemble

MessageThis is just very pointless and stupid, this is just waisting time and resources making silly laws which would be hard to enforce in a court of law.

MessageWouldn't Article III ban the ability of party and party administration to hire guards for a meeting or rally where they feel threatened? We'd be happy to pass a bill along these lines, but we must ask the DCD to vote against their own bill so we can make sure a bill is drafted properly with multiple viewpoints to make sure that the bill doesn't overreach it's stated goals as we believe Article III does.

MessageArticle III outlaws the compensation of individuals and personnel, but not the compensation of private organizations. If a political party is holding a rally or an event which they feel may be threatened, they are free to,
A) Employ a private security firm
or
B) Appeal to protection from local police

The decentralization of security details from political parties eliminates the danger that a "security force" would be used for the same function that a paramilitary force would. We will not vote against this piece of legislation, but if the TMP wishes to work with us to draft and pass an amendment to article III, we are open to doing so, and would advise Mr. Nozick to privately contact us.

MessageThis bill is getting stupid, it genuinely isnt worth the paper its written on. The DCD, RP and RRP are waisting our time and paper on event voting infavour of this. This law would be attacked by the judges of our justice system as it will just give them a headache and waste their valuable time which could be better spent on convicting real criminals who have harmed elderly people.

MessageIf that is the level of debate you have to offer any wonder your party is so small in parliament Mr Nozick.

MessageRight, because your arguments of "this is pointless and stupid" are absolutely thought-provoking. Everyone knows why my party isn't as grand as it used to be and yet even then we play an important role in the government. On the other hand, you have to slap the word shadow in front of all your titles because no one will work with you and your party has held the presidency for about one year and have never served in the cabinet since you resurrected yourselves like the zombies you are.

MessageI only have one request. Our ships are currently under the strict protection of our Navy and private security firms. All of the ships cary armed guards. This is due to the fact that a state of emergency and martial law has been declared in Lodamun. We would like to ask this Parliament: will this bill affect our ships? Will in any way affect our trade?

Thank you and I am sorry for intervening in your internal affairs.

MessageThe paramilitary bodies of political parties do not currently play a role in any security operations outside those of their respective parties. This legislation would not affect foreign trade or the protection of foreign personnel in any way, which is currently handled by elements of the national army.

MessageAs you may be aware, Lodamun is in a very tough situation now. We have had several terrorists attacks and martial law has been declared. We just want to make sure that our people in Telamon, especially those involved in trading, are very well protected not only by our Navy but by your military or security firms as well.

Thank you for your information
