Bill: Agricultural Freedom

Details

Submitted by[?]: Freedom Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2116

Description[?]:

Government regulation of pesticides and approving them is bureacracy plain and simple. Farmers will not use those chemicals that harm crops or harm people, if they do, then they wont sell their produce and will go out of business.

Just make them list what they use so people can judge for themselves.

The government should NOT take a more active role in regulating the use of pesticides in agriculture. The present system of disclosure means that every individual purchasing crops is fully equipped to make an informed, personal, decision, rather than having the state dictate what he can and cannot buy.

MessageStrongly opposed. This will be messed around with, businesses will "forget" to put labeling on the documents, and even if they do remember, by the time we realize a chemical causes harm it will have killed thousands.

MessageAgainst. A list of chemicals doesnt really mean anything. Although many are useful (and would not be banned) many others are dangerous (and will be).
