Bill: Income tax proposal of March 2597

Details

Submitted by[?]: National Labor Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill proposes to change income taxes. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2597

Description[?]:

Malivia Left proposes a taxation system where those who are struggling on low incomes are taxed lower amounts than those on higher incomes. Currently, every person pays 10% income tax. We believe that those who earn below 6,000MCR should not be taxed this much, but those above 10,000MCR should be taxed slightly more. This results in an overall cut in taxes to Malivians of approx 4.5bil MCR out of our 9bil MCR surplus, which can be accounted for in planned changes to expenditure on government departments. Malivia Left will propose our changes to expenditure shortly.
