MessageWe certainly approve of the sentiment of this legislation. However, we do not believe gun ownership should necessarily be mandatory for all adults, per se - this may make them available to criminals and people who are not of sound mind. We do believe that adults should be able to buy firearms freely, but only provided that they can pass security checks and get a license.
In this regard, we either support the status quo of this legislation, or licenses and security tests for gun owners. We will, therefore, regrettably have to vote against this legislation.

MessageWe do believe that crime would drastically be reduced by this measure and the common good would be higher; however, we cannot advocate mandatory anything for anyone. If someone so chooses to pass on gun ownership, we believe this is a right.
